SPOTIFY OFFICES
With its growth in the Australian market, Spotify is expanding its offices and seeking a redesign within the renowned 1 Bligh Street, Sydney building. The new design aims to reflect a strong connection to the brand and its employees while incorporating upgrades to boost engagement, retention, and talent acquisition.
Inspired by the lively, playful, and dynamic energy of Spotify's marketing and culture, the design concept embraces a bold and bright aesthetic that sparks curiosity and enthusiasm while maintaining an inviting and approachable ambiance.
Upon entry, visitors are greeted by a sleek and contemporary reception desk crafted from curved aluminum, positioned in front of a vibrant green wall. This setup sets the tone for a warm and welcoming tech-world experience. The sleek, modern lines of the reception seamlessly blend into a nostalgic 70s-inspired waiting area, drawing you toward the stunning views of the iconic Sydney skyline.
Low-line seating fosters a closer connection to the surrounding environment, encouraging you to relax while your eye is drawn around the room. Turntables and wall-hung album covers from Spotify artists reinforce the creative and collaborative nature of the office, while also signifying the timeless journey of the audio experience.

SITE LOCATION
1 BLIGH ST, SYDNEY
The site of this project resides in the coveted tier 1 commercial building 1 Blight Street, Sydney. Designed by Ivenhove Architects and Architectus.
The building, designed around an elliptical form and heart-shaped atrium, floods natural light and boats panoramic views of Sydney CBD, with uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour, opera house and the harbour bridge.
The building has achieved a six star Green Star rating, which includes a Green roof, double skin façade and black water recycling system.

SPATIAL ZONING
Open plan desk seating is spread evenly across the middle of the floor plate, with all elements able to be separated or connected, to allow for flexibility when expanding or reducing team sizes. In the center, a music library and listening area connect each of the work zones for autonomous or quiet collaborative work. Around the perimeter of the office space you will find several meeting rooms, recording studios, viewing libraries, and café breakout areas, which take advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows connecting staff and visitors to the remarkable location.
