The façade of the residence at 166 Paddington Street is a testament to its historical significance and remains heritage-listed. This 142 m² Sydney terrace block, originally constructed in the late 1800s, exemplifies Victorian architecture with its intricate detailing and decorative elements. While the exterior retains its heritage charm, the interior has been entirely re-imagined.

The four-story renovation includes significant excavation of the existing basement and an extension into the attic to provide additional living space for the client's teenage children. This project aims to create a contemporary family home focused on entertainment, privacy, and relaxation. To achieve this, several internal walls were removed to improve flow, and a soft colour palette along with materials such as timber, terracotta, and stone were used to bring authenticity and nature into the home.

The basement, with direct access to the outdoor yard, houses an open-plan kitchen and dining area featuring a galley layout and island bench. Porcelain countertops, custom joinery, and brushed nickle appliances create a welcoming yet sophisticated atmosphere.

A wine cellar is thoughtfully integrated at the rear of the basement for special occasions, and a concealed European laundry is efficiently tucked under the staircase.  A switchback staircase, showcases an inverted hand-rail and connects each level, allowing natural light from the newly installed skylight to cascade down.Future plans include extending the patio and garage area to create a second garden dwelling, enhancing the property's versatility.
